RARANGA WHAKAIRO
Raranga Whakairo is the mahi toi of patterned weaving with Harakeke. The range of whakairo that can used in kete and other taonga is immense. Each one tells a story, including the whakapapa of the design and who created it. The selection of the appropriate whakairo for the participant makes a truly special taonga.
There is a lot of mahi, time and heart that goes into creating these taonga.
Prices start at $400 NZD and I would love to work you to produce a bespoke piece. Please note due to the nature of this work, a fully bespoke kete can take up to six weeks.
